Must Explore things in Bali: The Candidasa Village
The peaceful fishing community of Candidasa provides the discriminating tourist on Bali with a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the west coast locales.
Uncrowded, serene beaches with stunning views of Nusa Penida to the south and west, vistas of rice farms on the hills, and a hint of Bali’s tallest mountain, Mount Agung, to the north, are available here.
Tenganan, a neighboring village, is where people still practice Bali Aga or old Balinese traditional customs. The people uphold a tight social structure and firmly adhere to ancestor worship, cosmology, and other animist beliefs. Villagers are required to reside there and marry other villagers.
After dusk, Tenganan is off-limits to strangers. Several arts and crafts displays may be seen and purchased, including ikat weaving, produced expertly by the ladies of the hamlet.
Other cultural features include Pura Besakih, the well-known temple at the foot of the legendary Mt Agung, and the three water palaces erected by the last Raja of Karangasem: Tirta Gangga, Jungutan, and Ujung. From Candidasa and Villa Gita, all these locations are easily accessible by car, and trips may be arranged upon request. Even the trip there and back is enjoyable since it immerses the traveler in East Bali’s pristine natural splendor.

The wonderfully magnificent Candidasa oceanfront villa Kaniska in Indonesia is a short distance from the water and does some excellent snorkeling. It mixes traditional Balinese architecture with a cutting-edge open-plan layout that is luminous, airy, and soothing. Numerous restaurants, local attractions, and hiking trails are nearby. You’ll love being here because of the atmosphere, the beautiful people, and most of all because you can escape the city and discover peace.
Directions to Reach
